My name is Margaret Boyd and I am a professional photographer based in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.   From artistic landscapes to fine art portraiture, I strive to capture and create images that evoke emotion;  Passion, essence and beauty is what speaks to me and this is what I love to capture.

Photography is a passion that I have had for over 30 years.  When i was in the 8th grade, my dad built me a dark room in the attic of our home in Tiverton, Rhode Island.  That is where it all began!  In my early years of photography I was drawn more to landscapes and architecture.   It was not until the birth of my daughter, Ava and the unexpected death of my husband, Bill that I started to capture human spirit, love and the amazing beauty that this world has to offer if we are just willing to see it.

My precious daughter has been my inspiration.  In just 5 years, I have taken about 20,000 photos of her which has given me lots of practice!   I have learned that the best shots are natural…they are captured while life is happening.  For this reason,  I try not to pose my subjects too much as real life cannot be staged.  Laughter, tears, love, play….true, raw emotion.  That is what I love to capture.
